The appraisal is the beginning of the loan process, not THE loan process. Do you get that feeling when you look at an Appraisal Management Companies web site? I see site after site jam packed with loads of information about regulations, fancy graphics of states and raindrops. I look at these sites, from the perspective of a mortgage guy, and my eyes glaze over.
How about a simple process that gives you a fair value that passes the common sense test and get it done in a reasonable amount of time. We'll worry about rules, reg's, and HVCC so you can worry about your loan and your borrower.
The SimQual Process:
- Make it easy to order the appraisal
- Quickly assign the order to a local appraiser
- Have a certified appraiser verify the quality of work - every time
- Deliver the appraisal quickly and efficiently
SimQual Appraisal Management Services was created by mortgage professionals for mortgage professionals. The mortgage professionals we know don't have a pile of extra time to spend reading about HVCC, state regulations, federal regulations, and whatever whim or fanciful journey our state and federal governments are taking. We believe that is what you are paying us for. We worry about getting you an accurate, quality, defensible residential appraisal and you worry about getting the loan closed.
SimQual will deliver a "Sim"-ple process and "Qual"-ity work! Every Time.
Core Values and Beliefs
Our reason for existing as a company doesn't have much to do with the appraisal business. It is about trying to create a company that really is different and better. We have been frustrated by the status quo in this industry, both from a client point of view and an employee point of view. We think the experience that clients have with most appraisal management companies is pretty bad. Companies often take clients for granted, don't seem to care about serving them well, and often don't even tell them the truth.
Yet it seems to us that most individuals really do want to accomplish something wonderful and meaningful with their work, and they are willing to work hard to make that happen. But somehow the organizations that they work for often make it difficult or impossible for individuals to really do great work, or feel much sense of accomplishment, or serve their clients well. When that happens, it is a real tragedy.
So, we are trying to create a company where people can do great work that they are proud of, and where we provide our clients with an experience that they will truly find remarkable.
Even if you start with a strong dissatisfaction with the status quo and lofty ambitions of doing something different and better, it is not all that obvious what to do! After all, people don't intentionally create companies that are lousy places to work and provide lousy service. It happens in spite of good intentions.
We think the key to creating a company that really is different and better is to focus on the values that drive the company's actions. Everything else about a company will change over time - the market, the people, and the products. Only the values have a chance to remain constant and make the company different and better in a lasting way. Our Core Values and Beliefs are built around the concepts of respect for the individual and honesty. Here they are:
- We respect the individual, and believe that individuals who are treated with respect and given responsibility respond by giving their best.
- We require complete honesty and integrity in everything we do.
- We make commitments with care, and then live up to them. In all things, we do what we say we are going to do.
- Work is an important part of life, and it should be fun. Being a good businessperson does not mean being stuffy and boring.
- We are frugal. We guard and conserve the company's resources with at least the same vigilance that we would use to guard and conserve our own personal resources.
- We insist on giving our best effort in everything we undertake. Furthermore, we see a huge difference between "good mistakes" (best effort, bad result) and "bad mistakes" (sloppiness or lack of effort).
- Clarity in understanding our mission, our goals, and what we expect from each other is critical to our success.
- We are believers in the Golden Rule. In all our dealings we will strive to be friendly and courteous, as well as fair and compassionate.
- We feel a sense of urgency on any matters related to our clients. We own problems and we are always responsive. Our Clients drive our actions.
